Go watch it!
July 27, 2008 at 2:19 pm | In babyme | Leave a CommentIn a true SATC style, I broke my sandals whilst running across the road 2 minutes late for the movie. It didn’t stop me from getting my brownies cheesecake ice-cream (finally! 2 scoops, no less!) to eat whilst watching the movie.
Although it was my second time watching it, first time on big screens, I still cried. Plus the girls lagi inda branti nangis. Hehehehe.
Yes, the movie feels like an extended version of an episode of its series but it is SATC!
I won’t write much as I don’t want to spoil it for those who have not watched it but I am going to say, GO WATCH IT AT THE MOVIES. Only 4 minutes were censored, so that’s not much! I watched the uncensored version already and I can tell you, you won’t miss much. If you think the neighbour’s d**k or Samantha’s dog humping or the word fu*king being censored will make much difference, then perhaps this movie is not for you. Liat p0rn saja :p
But really, go watch it before the authorities decide to take it off the screens. Afterall, they are only showing it twice a day at really ODD times!
Turning 8!
July 26, 2008 at 5:43 pm | In development, feeding solids | Leave a Comment..months pulang tu saja. Hehehe.
AH will be turning 8 months tomorrow and the husband said that we should stop buying him a cake so as not to spoil him. Har har har. Not that AH understands (or does he?) but I guess I should stop from eating good cake every month, huh? :p
Last night AH did what he had been doing for the past week, again! He got out of his cot into our bed, again. Crawled over my body (and face!) to go and lie down in his bapa’s arms! Then, he decided he wanted me and instead of turning his head to me, he crawled over my body and made himself comfortable under my right armpit. Hahaha. Cali banar ya ani but it is also worrying as it would mean that pillows around him when he’s on our bed would not be sufficient!
On top of that, he has now enjoyed playing under the chairs or tables! We let him but we just had to make sure he doesn’t bump his head or anything. Plus, after changing his diapers, he would try to climb on his baby box and last night, tried to stand up whilst finding support on the baby box! Erkkk. He is growing up, lah! No more letting him lie down and just roll over once with toys in his hand. It is only a matter of time before he builds a fort using boxes. Oh, have I mentioned that he wants to be put in baskets too? Thats my AH!
On the feeding side, the paed has asked me to introduce animal proteins when he turns 8 months. So far he has enjoyed porridge, carrot, sweet potatotes, potatoes, brocolli, pears. bananas and Farleys’ biscuits. I almost introduced to him salmon 2 nights ago before finding out that introducing fish is preferred at 10 months. So, mummynya saja makan the grilled salmon :p
Now that he is turning 8 months, I am due to introduce to him the good ol’ meat, chicken and probably some egg yolk. Of course, more greens and more fruits too! Again, I have to use the 3-days (or 4, whichever you like.. Some even used 7-days) rule to see the effect of the food on AH. So, hopefully, no one gives him any other food besides what he is supposed to eat so I know which food has affected AH, if any.
One thing I am going to adamant about is giving him anything to drink besides BM or water. I will introduce him juice in due course but now, I want him to enjoy water and BM as much as possible first. He can pick up mummy and bapa’s sweet tooth when he is older- not that he has any teeth yet! I know right??? All this time I thought he was teething, I haven’t seen a single white bud yet! Haha. All the worry about my nips being bitten since he was 4 months old, sampai ani pun alum nampak. Hehehe. Nevermindlah, I am supposed to enjoy before kena gigit. Hehehehe.
Anyways, I’m off to watch SATC with my girls tonight (thanks husband for letting me :p). Have a good weekend y’all!
Hee-hee!

During my last trip, I didn’t make any prior arrangements with the hotel to keep my EBM in their freezer as I was told the hotel is a 5-stars hotel.
As soon as I arrived in my room, I called their In-Room Dining to make arrangements. True, it is a 5-stars hotel but what they have failed to tell me was it’s a relatively new hotel and their service was horrendous! EVERYTIME I called to ask them to collect my EBM, I had to repeat what I wanted over the phone 2-3 times! Once, they came up to my room to return back my EBM despite me telling them that I wanted THEM to collect. I even wrote on the packs my check-out date and time! Another time, I had to wait for more than 20 minutes for them to come up that I resorted to just passing it to them at breakfast! It was exasperating! I even found myself speaking in their language/ slang/ accent just to get my points across.
At the end of my stay, I thought that my stay at Seoul Plaza Hotel was still the best (in terms of handling my EBM).
Where did I go?
Where did I stay?

The weekend I came back, we took baby AH to the beach with the boys and girls.
Baby AH seemed to enjoy the beach as he was well-behaved! Or he liked being fussed over by the boys and girls. Haha. We didn’t take him to the waters though as I don’t think he is ready for that YET (or kali mummynya yang inda ready. hehe.).
I fed Baby AH before we went to the beach and I brought his biscuits and water just in case. He didn’t ask for any of these as well as milk! Again, I think he was enjoying being fussed over- lapar pun lupa! However, as soon as we got into the car he started crying and asking for a feed! Not long after that, terus tidur! Must be the angin pantai, so nyaman and made him sleepy. Girls, I guess he tahan-ed his ngantuk until dalam kereta. Hehe.

Besides work (I did my first issuance with help from C & Z- thanks girls!), I got myself a new toy and am loving it! I still have a lot to explore but I love the fact that it has an Eng-Mal dictionary! LOL. Not that I have had a chance to use it yet but the thought of a translator at the tips of your fingers (literally! haha.) is fun! Plus I finally got myself a 3g phone, which is also the first ever phone I have bought with my own money since I started work is also sweeeeeeet! Hehehe.
Which phone?

———————————————————–
The past few days, with most people fasting to make up for missed days last year, it occurred to me that, insya Allah, I will still be feeding AH during Ramadhan this year.
From what I have read, breastfeeding (and pregnant) mothers are allowed NOT to fast if they feel that by fasting, it will have a negative impact on the mother and the baby. I have also read that when a mother fasts, her milk supply will not likely decrease, however, the milk composition might change.
Currently, AH takes 2 meals a day- breakfast and dinner. He usually takes veggies or fruits in the morning followed by 8oz of milk and rice & something else for dinner. During the day his milk intake is now between 16oz – 20oz and I am thinking another 12oz or so in the evening.
I am thinking of introducing lunch to AH soon so he can have a midday meal when Ramadhan comes but I am still contemplating as I understand that milk should still be babies’ main source of food until they turn one (another reason why I don’t stress eating as much yet, merely introducing all kinds of food. hehe.). Alternatively, I am again stocking up my EBM just in case supply runs low (despite research said it shouldn’t. hehe.). Plus, I am supposed to go away for 2 weeks in September but have yet to receive confirmation. So, either way, I still need to stock up.
In terms of expressing, I was thinking to stick with after subuh prayers pumping then instead of mid-morning, perhaps around midday and then after sungkai. So, insya Allah that should at least be 24oz. Oh, working hours during Ramadhan is usually shorter so perhaps, AH shall feed less milk when Im at work.
Anyway, what are other nursing mothers’ experiences? Do you fast during Ramadhan? How do you ensure you have enough supply? Do you feed solids more to make up for it? Do you drink more in the evening to make up for it? What is your expressing schedule like? Do you find any changes in your milk?
Appreciate if you could share. Thanks
Back!
July 13, 2008 at 9:36 am | In baby AH, baby products, travelling | Leave a Comment…and am glad its sunday today and there’s another holiday soon!
Baby AH was being manja all night and I didn’t get much sleep. Guess he was missing me. Hee-hee. Husband said that when he was playing on his mat, he kept on looking back thinking I was sitting at my usual spot. Kesiann eh! They were also telling me that the first day and night I was gone, he kept on crying and ‘ngigau’. I suppose he has now knows how to ‘mencari’.
Going to take Baby AH to his first picnic at the beach today! Yaay! Had to try and look for mozzies repellant for him to use.
Will be seeing you lot at the beach later! xx
p.s. finally bought bio-oil! can’t wait to try it and see results (hopefully!).

Online Shopping & Immunization Program
July 1, 2008 at 9:34 pm | In baby AH, baby products, scrappping | 6 CommentsLast week, I was browsing the Internet for some journaling books from the Noteworthy 2 collection as I missed out on them at Shabby
I finally found them on yourscrapbookstash and before checking out, it said there was a flat rate of $15 for shipping! ERK! And I think, every online shopper knows that flat rate shipping is as good as having a 50% discount! Har har har.
So from this
I ended up with
Topping up my NW and Animal Cracker PPs…
Maya Road Sheer Sheets…
Q&C Felt Fusions, Teresa Collin Stamps, Fontwerks Stamp…
Heaps of KI Lace Cardstocks..
Paper Salon Bliss Boy PPs & Diecuts…
and Teresa Collins Travelogue PPs & diecuts…
This is proof that online shopping is evil. To be fair (and support Brunei’s economy besides buying pirated discs. Har har har.), I only bought things I couldn’t get from Shabby. Hehehe.
So, yesterday, I spent some time sorting out my PPs by manufacturer/ designer and realised I looove buying PPs and not use them! In view of that (haha!), I am making a pact to TRY and use at least half of my PPs before I purchase more PPs. Tee-hee.
——————————————————————–
On Baby AH’s front, Alhamdullilah, his fever has finally subsided but he is still as manja and has a bit of coughs and runny nose left!
His grandmothers are saying that he is either teething or ‘mengeluarkan pemandainya’. Well, we have seen the latter but I have yet to see any white buds! Heehee. He managed to angkat his bum and ingsut for a bit before both the husband and I screamed in delight, in which he responded by crying! LOL.
Oh, we took him to TK Chan though, as few friends have recommended him way even before I got pregnant. Haha. We were quite impressed with not only how he handled Baby AH (obviously, as it is his job. hehe.) but also the way he handled all of our questions. Insya Allah, will definitely go back if the need arises.
This reminds me, any of your babies have gone for the extra immunizations? The rotavirus, chicken pox and pneumoccocal ones? I previously asked for rotavirus at the paed in RIPAS but they told me to ask from my local clinic. However, the local clinic said to me, ‘why do you want it? kids are going to get diarrohea anyway’. *shrugs* I was wondering if these are included in the vaccination program at JPMC and if so, how much does it cost (the program or otherwise, as additional).

This post has been sitting in my draft box for a few days now. I have now picked up a little bit of the flu and a lot of coughs and sore throat! The husband said that I should sleep early tonight but I have brought some work home! Erk! Last night was spent watching SATC and I love, love it! I cried buckets but so, so what. I had my dose of SATC! Tee-hee. I remember watching SATC ALL the time when I was in uni and a certain ex-boyfriend used to complain that we girls should stop comparing our relationships with SATC…. Hahahaha. There’s a lengthy issue on this but I’m too lazy to talk about it in fear of laughing myself silly.
But yes, I love, love the movie and I still want to do the SATC movie night with the boys and girls & Ahmad Haris! Hahaha. Especially now that the cinema in Kiulap has confirmed that the authorities have banned the movie from showing in Brunei. We should know better, right? ORIGINAL dvds for its series were confiscated at the post office, with the recepient being fined some more! To top it off, apparently, they were gifts! Hahaha.
Its okaylah. As I said before, di kominis ada jual the ciplak version of anything and everything that will most likely be taken away when you purchase it overseas (i.e. from amazon) kan. So, why not support Brunei’s economy and purchase them from kominis. Har har har.
